Film Garden Entertainment is an award-winning production company that has worked for a variety of networks, including ABC, The Discovery Channel, FOX, Animal Planet, Spike, and MSNBC. They came to us in need of a new website and logo to refresh their image. We are in the midst of working on their website, however we have found a winner for the logo. We started with their ideas and information specific to their project and went through several phases, as with any design project, there is a certain process to be followed.

Initial Direction and Sketches

The logo that Film Garden originally described was something with a box around the words “Film Garden” with a weed growing up one side. I sketched these ideas, along with a few other ideas of my own and presented a couple of ideas based on these sketches.

I decided to add the light to allude to the film aspect. I also presented a few other ideas, including one that I fully implemented in illustrator, based upon an actual film reel canister that had cutouts that looked like a flower, alongside my own script writing of “Film Garden.”

Chosen Design Evolution

It was decided that the film canister was the most appropriate idea, and this is what ultimately ended up being the winner, and the following is the evolution that it went through.

Wowwwwww. They all look really great!! I LOVE the light effect on the one that shines down on Film Garden! How cool?!?! SO you!
  • That's funny, because I actually didn't like that one as much as some of the others. I think we ended up with a pretty good one, and the website should turn out pretty nice. The most important part, though, is that the client is happy! :)

Yeah, I wasn't nuts about the font, but I did like the light effect:). I'm sure you can use it with something else brilliantly though:)!!!
